David Bowie
Starman
1972 · The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
Official music video. Official video on the David Bowie channel. Tour footage by Mick Rock. Album version, 1972.
Documented
1972. The official video on the David Bowie channel uses the album recording and footage from the Ziggy Stardust tour, shot in the UK in 1972 and 1973 by Mick Rock. The sound copyright on that upload is 1972.
What can be seen or heard
A starman waiting in the sky. He might come down. Children are told to use it, and to dance. The radio is in the song. The film is the tour, not a later science lecture.
What the artist said
The video description is the statement opened here. A separate interview about Ziggy was not filed onto this chair.
Living Realm comparison
A messenger above, and a warning not to waste the visit, can be set beside other sky chairs. Bowie’s character is not thereby a record of a historical being. The song stays the song.
