What the picture shows

Market Street from a moving car: tracks, masonry blocks, traffic, and the Ferry Building tower at the end of the street.

Set it beside the 1906 Worden photograph. The direction is similar. The camera is not the same.

Documented context

The archive copy’s own title says 1905. The film is the ride down Market Street before the fire. The exact day is not printed on this frame. It is a motion-picture frame, not a large still plate.
