Front Street after the fire

Toronto · 19 April 1904

What the picture shows

Blocks of masonry shells along a street. A later purple catalog line crosses the lower left of this scan. It is not part of the 1904 exposure. It was left in place rather than painted out.

Documented context

The Toronto fire of 19 April 1904. Another ruined commercial district, the same year as Baltimore, for comparison. Not a verdict that the two fires are one event.
