What this plate shows

Paxton’s iron-and-glass palace photographed in the park at Sydenham, fountains in the foreground, the long glazed nave beyond. A camera record of a structure that would burn in 1936. This is not the 1851 Hyde Park original in situ. Record the Sydenham building as photographed, then the fire as a later documented event.
