David Hatcher Childress

Source Needed

A catalog, not one thesis: lost cities and traces of advanced ancient technology argued across many regions.

Who they are

An American writer and publisher. A birth year is Source Needed. He is not filed as the director of an excavation. The books survey other people’s sites and stories. A television appearance is a later popular layer. Program and episode: Source Needed. It is not treated as a book.

Major works

Titles already named in the file. No publisher, edition, or page is invented. Source Needed means that detail is not pinned, not that the book is rejected.

  • Lost Cities series — Travel books on lost cities in many regions, including the Andes, Central America, and Egypt among others. Individual titles and years: Source Needed.Source Needed
  • Technology of the Gods — A book on ancient technology. Year and publisher: Source Needed.Source Needed

The sequence is not a score. It separates the old material, the claim, the citations, the other readings, and the part that can actually be established.

  1. 01

    Ancient evidence

The places in the books are older than the books and mostly have traditions, dates, or excavators of their own. A lost-city volume is a modern survey. It is not the tradition, and it is not one thesis with one mechanism.

  2. 02

    Author’s claim

David Hatcher Childress argues, across a Lost Cities series and in Technology of the Gods, that advanced technologies and lost cities are attested worldwide and that conventional archaeology has dismissed the traces. Ancient aircraft, read out of vimana traditions, is one recurring interpretation inside the catalog. It is not the only one. He is not filed as holding only an extraterrestrial thesis, and not as holding only an Atlantis thesis. Volume years are Source Needed.

  3. 03

    Evidence the author cites

He cites travel, photographs, myths, anomalous objects, and other authors. A citation in a catalog is not a context. The context is what a specialist report would supply. Those reports are Source Needed object by object.

  4. 04

    Alternative readings

The competing reading is ordinary archaeological context: an object belongs to the culture that made it until a report says otherwise. That reading is not a verdict delivered from this shelf. It is the reading he is arguing against. No site report is attached. Source Needed.

  5. 05

    What can be established

He published a wide catalog. The monuments he photographs are not thereby reassigned. Egyptian, Maya, Andean, and Hindu cells keep their own wording. His captions are not copied into them.

Evidence used

Travel report, photographs, local legends, artifacts he regards as out of place, ancient texts as he reads them, and other modern writers. The series does not rest on one document. Each object would need its own archaeological context. Those contexts are not filed one by one. Source Needed per object.

Evidence and interpretation

The source is kept apart from what the author infers. The inference is not written back into a tradition.

  1. What it establishes

The regions he walks through contain real monuments, cities, and texts, many of them already on this chart under the traditions that claim them.

    What the author infers

The Lost Cities books treat anomalies in those regions as traces of lost civilizations and of technologies the standard accounts do not allow. The catalog is the interpretation. A photograph is not a new inscription.

  2. What it establishes

Indian literature includes vimana traditions. What those texts say is a matter for the editions, which are not filed here. Source Needed for a Sanskrit or translated passage.

    What the author infers

Technology of the Gods, and the wider catalog, read vimanas and similar stories as machines. That reading is his. It is not written into the Hindu row.

Criticism and competing interpretations

Attributed to other readers. Not a SCARCE verdict and not a rank.

Archaeologists take the cited anomalies case by case, inside the periods and cultures that made the objects. A catalog that repeats them is not itself a finding that they share one technology. This page does not score the catalog, and it does not pretend to have reviewed each site. Source Needed for the specialist report on any particular object he features. No object is called false here, and none is called proven.

Unresolved

Any one object in the catalog can still be asked about on its own: what it is, who made it, and which report says so. The catalog does not answer that, and this page does not pretend to. The first volume title and year are Source Needed, so the series is not given a false precision.

SCARCE connections

Links leave this page. They do not import the author into the tradition.

  • Ancient Egyptian — Egypt is one region of the lost-city books. The Egyptian cell is not those books.
  • Maya Traditions — Central America is one region of the catalog. The Maya row is not his caption.
  • Inca Traditions — The Andes are one region of the catalog. The Inca record is not a lost-technology cell.
  • Hindu Traditions — Vimana traditions are Indian literature. The Hindu row is not edited into an aircraft claim.

Not the same claim

  • Erich von Däniken — A single mechanism: extraterrestrial visitors, argued from monuments. This catalog is wider and is not only that claim.
  • Graham Hancock — One lost civilization at the end of the ice age, with a stated chronology. Not this multi-region catalog.
  • The tradition rows — A travel book can name them. Naming is not authorship. No cell was edited to match the catalog.

Sources

The label is the kind of material. It is not a judgment. Primary text, material evidence, and a modern book stay different things.

  • Lost Cities series

His surveys. Volume years are Source Needed. They are not field monographs.

    Source Needed
  • Technology of the Gods

His technology book. Year and publisher are Source Needed.

    Source Needed
  • Monuments and artifacts

A stone or a wall can be real. Its being real does not establish the technology caption. Context reports are Source Needed.

    Source Needed
  • Vimana and other traditional stories

The stories establish what those traditions say, once an edition is filed. The edition is Source Needed. They do not establish aircraft.
