Is reincarnation a destination, punishment, school, growth process, or something else?

  1. Not a scientific category. There is no established evidence, so it is neither school nor punishment in this record.

  2. Generally not. Where later mystical traditions include reincarnation (gilgul in some streams), it is a later teaching, not the general structure.

  3. Generally no. Resurrection and eternal destiny are the frame, not reincarnation.

  4. No. Reincarnation is not the claim.

  5. Yes, rebirth is claimed. Its meaning varies by school — bondage, fruit of action, a field of dharma, or a path toward liberation — not one agreed function.

  6. Yes. Continuity through dependent processes. It is the structure of cyclic existence to be understood and left, not a prize destination.

  7. Some later traditions contain reincarnation concepts. It is not a single assigned meaning (school vs punishment) across Daoism.

  8. Renewal and rebirth motifs. This is not recorded here as a reincarnation school in the Indian sense.

  9. Possible rebirth motifs; disputed and variable. No single meaning is established in this record.

  10. Cyclic ideas vary. No single reincarnation role is isolated here.

  11. Repeated embodiment is part of its teachings — a condition of the thetan in the material universe, addressed through auditing and claimed realization.

  12. Varies. Prominent in Indian/Jyotiṣa traditions; not inherent to every astrological system.

  13. Not a reincarnation teaching here, so no role as school, punishment, or destination is assigned.

  14. Where it is taught, it is often a consequence and a discipline (Orphic purity, Platonic judgment), not a universal Greek belief and not one meaning.

  15. Bondage. Rebirth is the result of karma and ends at liberation. It is not a gift.

  16. A condition to leave, by grace and discipline, not a destination to seek.

  17. Not the structure, so no role is assigned.

  18. Where present, it usually comes with Buddhist teaching and carries that teaching’s moral weight. It is not hereby made native to every Chinese cosmology.

  19. In the texts that have it, repeated embodiment is captivity in the cosmos, ended by knowledge. Other texts do not use it.

  20. Regeneration in the Hermetica is a transformation by Mind. Do not relabel it as saṃsāra. Later Hermetic writers sometimes add reincarnation; that is not automatic.

  21. Where return is taught, it often keeps kinship and destiny in view. It is not defined here as punishment, school, or a single mechanism.

  22. Not recorded as reincarnation, so no role is assigned. Ancestral presence is the different claim.

  23. Not taught, so no role as school, punishment, or path is assigned.

  24. Unclassified / Source Needed. Leaving an earlier world is not personal rebirth.

  25. Working synthesis · not a verdict

Yes, rebirth is claimed. The working chart does not further label it as punishment, school, or destination beyond its occurrence and the moon interval.
